Association
of Ontario Health Centres (Canada)
The Association of Ontario Health Centres website
features position papers, fact sheets, and a directory of
all the registered Community Health Centres in Ontario, with
contact information. The “F.Y.I.” section contains
the most useful information.
Ontario
Healthy Communities Coalition (Canada)
The Ontario Healthy Communities Coalition works with communities
in Ontario to promote healthy community principles. Their
website
has an extensive online library of their resources, and a
compilation of community
stories from across the province.
Health
Canada (Canada)
This is the central website
of the Canadian Ministry of Health. Its “Community
Health” section (scroll down the page) features
reports on a variety of community health initiatives, for
the elderly, children, or First Nations.
Health.gov
(USA)
This web portal
is the central point for all online information about health
in the US. It features links to every US Government agency,
department, and project related to health. A new and interesting
section is “Steps
to a HealthierUS,” which incorporates some of the
aspects of the Healthy
People 2010 program.
Health Nexus (Canada)
Health Nexus (formerly Ontario Prevention Clearinghouse) is Ontario's leading bilingual health promotion organization. Health Nexus works with health promoters, health professionals, volunteers, organizations, and policy makers to transform good ideas into action via four main programs. Health Nexus offers consultations, workshops/ conferences and print and electronic resources on health promotion priorities such as inclusion, early childhood development and chronic disease prevention. It also advocates for healthy public policy and the dedication of resources to enhance well-being and reduce demand on the health care and social service systems.

Health Nexus - Web links are links to external sites and organizations that contain relevant information on health promotion and the determinants of health. The links have been categorized by subject and each link has a short description on what the site has to offer.
