I have been involved in some type of community change work for my entire working life, starting public and non-profit groups in rural Alberta community, in Eastern Europe with international development organizations, and multi-stakeholder initiatives across Canada. I have a deep urge to “move the needle” on the most pressing challenges or our time and build vibrant communities.
Over the last ten years, I have been deeply involved in efforts to plan, implement and evaluate initiatives to tackle complex community issues. This includes work in the area of neighborhood renewal, community safety, poverty and homelessness, education, health and recreation.
In the process, I've followed – and sometimes contributed to – the emerging work on social innovation, complex community systems, developmental evaluation, collaboration and adaptive leadership.
I am lucky and proud to work with so many people who wake up committed to shaping – not merely enduring – their future.
